About SESG
It’s in times of crisis that we take stock of what really matters.
Founded almost 40 years ago, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce has since provided a natural link between companies in Sweden and Singapore. Over the decades, the bonds have strengthened as Singapore has become a home away from home for many Swedish MNCs.
Why we started SESG
Like everywhere in the world, Singapore has been hit hard by Covid-19. Companies of all sizes face challenges they never had to think about before, and the crisis has accelerated change across many dimensions. From global companies who see Singapore as a regional home, to local SMEs who are symbols of the strong Singaporean entrepreneurial mindset, they are all at a crossroads on how to navigate this new normal.
During the circuit breaker, a discussion started on how our member companies, through SwedCham, could make a difference in Singapore during these challenging times.
Based on the belief that collaboration and conversations can turn moments of crisis into rays of hope SwedCham launched the Sweden Singapore initiative — SESG.
SESG stands for Sweden-Singapore, and the initiative brings together Swedish multinational companies based in Singapore with local Singaporean SMEs in an effort to change the way we operate in the community.
As business leaders, we know we have the power to fuel change and that when we come together, we can have more impact. Because in these turbulent times, businesses, big or small, need to stand together to emerge stronger. Let’s #StandTogetherSESG.
Looking forward
This long-term initiative features activities centred around mutual exchange of experiences, knowledge, and opportunities.
The aim is to create collective positive impact by enabling new, unexpected connections between businesses, to show that all companies — big and small, local and foreign — can learn from each other and come out of this stronger.
